PromptKit is a Chrome browser extension that helps you manage AI prompts. We do not collect, store or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

2. Data We Store

PromptKit stores the following data exclusively in your browser using Chrome's built-in Storage API:

  • Prompts you create (title, content, category, tags)
  • Extension settings (compact mode, auto-close preference)
  • Usage counts per prompt

This data syncs between your Chrome browsers via your Google account's built-in sync feature — managed entirely by Google, not by us.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We have no servers or databases
  • We do not track usage analytics
  • We do not collect email addresses or account information
  • We do not read the content of AI conversations
  • We do not sell or share any data with third parties

4. Permissions Explained

  • storage — To save your prompts locally and sync across devices
  • activeTab — To detect which AI platform you're on
  • scripting — To inject prompt text into AI chat input fields
  • contextMenus — To add "Save to PromptKit" when you right-click selected text
  • clipboardWrite — To copy prompts to your clipboard

5. Third-Party Services

PromptKit does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data services.
